About us

Our names are Sharon and Jim. We are Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF) registered breeders, breeding under the prefix Beretania which is Hawaiian for British. We specialise in breeding British shorthairs and longhairs, and we are located in Fife, Scotland, just 15 minutes from Edinburgh and 40 minutes from Glasgow.

Our cats are a much loved part of our home and family and have been for over 30 years. They live happily alongside us and our dogs.

We are committed to the British shorthair and longhair, and to breeding healthy sociable kittens that conform to the breed standard. We ensure our kittens go to loving homes and that their new owners are given the support and help they may need to look after them.

We are members of the GCCF Breeder Scheme having shown our commitment to the additional standards required by the scheme's code of ethics. We are also members of a number of cat clubs including the Short Haired Cat Society, founded in 1901 and a founder member of the GCCF.
